A 10,000 square foot, 375-seat buffet restaurant for MGM’s Goldstrike Casino Resort, Buffet Americana redefines the casino buffet drawing inspiration from the regional location to create an intimate, contextual environment. Seating areas are designed around three distinct art features, each inspired by the rich agricultural history of North Mississippi, particularly as a leader in cottonand denim textile production. Featuring bolts of denim fabric, cotton rope and vintage wooden spools, and leather wall tiles created from vintage belts and machine belting, the sum of these parts references classic American workwear, including the iconic Levi’s 501 jean, and the everyday people who wear them. The VIP seating area, reserved for MGM’s Platinum and Noir M-Card players, is located beneath a 30’-0” x 30’-0” skylight. Self-service beverage stations feature flat screen video arrays and hand-glazed ceramic tile. The buffet includes action stations for pizza, a rotisserie grill and carving station, a Mongolian grill, and a market-style approach to visual merchandising that celebrates the freshness of the food.
