POSTCARD INN / Details Magazine

Friday, October 22nd, 2010

Our work at Postcard Inn is featured in the November issue of Details magazine. The Style section feature “Stay Here Now” includes Postcard Inn in their round-up of one of a kind escapes. Calling Postcard Inn one of the 9 Best New Design Hotels, the feature highlights vacation spots that “showcase the world-class work of influential architects and designers.”

“Originally a Travelodge, the inn was recently made over by Philadelphia’s SLDesign, which mixed vintage and modern–Eames chairs, Modernica stools –for a neo-bohemian vibe driven home by the 1,200 feet of rope macraméd into a light fixture in the lobby.”

POSTCARD INN / SKY Magazine

Thursday, April 22nd, 2010

Postcard Inn Outdoor SeatingJason Oliver Nixon writes about Postcard Inn in his Jet Set blog for Delta Sky Magazine online.

“The Postcard Inn is the colorful re-do of a 1960s-era motel, and the results are terrific. It’s cheap. It’s chic. The rooms are smart, fun and inviting. The public spaces are wonderful, mixing eclectic, oft-vintage furnishings with gorgeous coffee table books and plenty of spots to kick back with a cool cocktail.”

“Frankly, the Postcard Inn is far more stylish—and a heck of a lot cheaper—than Miami’s South Beach, so if you’re looking for a relaxed-chic, boho beach experience, book the Postcard Inn and pronto. It’s a winner.”

Glad you liked it Jason.

AFFORDABILITY MEETS STYLE IN ST. PETERSBURG, FLORIDA

Friday, November 27th, 2009

ST. PETE BEACH, FL (October 22, 2009) – Welcome to the Postcard Inn on The Beach, an affordable refuge and a beachgoer’s escape on St. Pete Beach (2007 World’s Best Beach by Dr. Beach).  The newest property from Stephen Hanson, president of B.R. Guest Restaurants and creator of the James Hotel, (2004 America’s Sexiest New Resort by Travel + Leisure) The Postcard Inn on The Beach,  is a reprieve from fussy hotels-a vintage American getaway, relaxed, beachy and carefree.

“The Postcard Inn on The Beach will be an authentic reflection of its environment, incorporating the laid-back essence of St. Pete Beach,” says Stephen Hanson, president of B.R. Guest Restaurants.  ”Similar to opening the James, our first hotel property, we’re looking to build a successful brand with unique character that will cater to all types of travelers looking for more than just the trendiest new hotel.”

Reminiscent of surfers’ digs, each room will offer quirky décor elements including vintage light fixtures, refurbished surf gear and cozy bedding.  Designed by SLDesign, the Postcard Inn on The Beach will offer rooms that overlook the gulf, the garden, or pool.  Select rooms will boast private poolside patios, bringing the cool ocean breeze and rocking pool party right up to guests’ doorsteps.  Every room comes equipped with a work-station, flat screen television and desk, but no two rooms are exactly the same.
